Brahmavar: Husband murders wife over excessive mobile phone usage, arrested

Brahmavar, Jun 20: A shocking incident has been reported from Hosamatha in Hiliyana village under Brahmavar taluk, where a man allegedly murdered his wife following a domestic quarrel.

According to the police, the accused, Ganesh Poojary, reportedly addicted to alcohol, returned home intoxicated on the night of June 19. Allegedly enraged by his wife Rekha's frequent use of her mobile phone, he engaged in a heated argument with her. The quarrel escalated, and at around 11:30 pm, he is said to have attacked her with a machete, resulting in her death.

A case has been registered at the Shankaranarayana police station.

The accused, Ganesh Poojary, has been taken into custody and will be presented before the court.

Further investigation is underway.
