Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi

Udupi, Jun 11: “You are no less than anyone. Strive for higher education,” said Daijiworld media founder Walter Nandalike, encouraging students of government schools to shed any sense of inferiority. He was speaking at a felicitation programme held on Tuesday to honour students and parents of Palimar Government Pre-University College, which secured 100% results in the 2025 second PU annual examinations.

Nandalike further advised the students to choose a career in government service. “I encourage each and every one of you to seriously consider this path — from the basic level jobs like group D positions, such as attender or helper, to the highest levels like IAS, IPS, or other prestigious civil services. Whether it is at the state level or the central level, give your best shot at securing a government job,” he said.

Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty said, “Students must never forget the school where they studied, the teachers who shaped their future, and their parents who gave them life.”

The MLA also inaugurated the newly renovated entrance of the institution on the occasion. He emphasized that the government has introduced several schemes for the comprehensive development of government schools and urged everyone to make the best use of them.

Kaup Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishad president Pundalika Marathe, who had organised a literary conference at the college this year, donated Rs 70,000 for the development of the institution.

Palimar gram panchayat president Soumya Shetty, vice-president Rayeshwar Pai, former student and donor Dr Prabha Nambiar, panchayat member Sujatha, College Development Committee vice-president Prasad Palimar, and School Development and Monitoring Committee president Shobha were present.

Principal Greta Moras welcomed the gathering. Lecturer Pavithra K compered the event, and lecturer Chaitra proposed the vote of thanks.

I don't understand the logic of advising people to go after government jobs. What you see is ego in IAS officers and corruption and laziness in D class jobs. Seeing this prevalent everywhere, people of our times distanced from such jobs and are happy that we were not part of such hopeless establishment.

Opportunities are abundant in government jobs. Once you get in, sky is the limit. Only thing is that you should be always careful while trying to achieve your goals. One generation in government jobs can earn for next 2, 3 generations!!!
