Patna, May 28: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to hold a grand roadshow in Patna on Wednesday, May 29, the city’s traffic movement will undergo significant changes as part of security and crowd management arrangements.

Addressing a press briefing on Tuesday, Traffic SP Aparajit Lohan said a ‘No Entry’ order will be enforced in several parts of the city from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the day of the event. These restrictions have been put in place to facilitate the Prime Minister's convoy and ensure public safety.

Lohan urged commuters, particularly air passengers, to reach Patna Airport before 4 p.m. After this time, only ticketed flyers will be allowed to access the airport through Chitkohra Golambar, and they may be required to use police escort vehicles stationed at three designated pickup points.

The roadshow route will commence from Patna Airport, pass through Doomra Chowki and Income Tax Roundabout, and culminate at the BJP office. Accordingly, major diversions have been implemented:

• Phulwarisharif to Airport road will be entirely closed post 4 p.m.

• Commuters are advised to use Jagdev Path as an alternate route.

• For northbound traffic, Ashiana-Digha Road has been designated as a viable alternative.

• Doomra Chowki entry will be strictly prohibited during the event.

• At the Income Tax Roundabout, all vehicle movement will be stopped.

• To reach Gandhi Maidan or the railway station, travelers are advised to take the R Block route.

The Patna Police have established special parking zones for attendees and have also roped in NGOs and volunteer groups to assist with crowd control and emergency coordination.

Authorities have appealed to the public to avoid non-essential travel within the restricted areas and to cooperate with traffic officials to ensure a smooth and safe conduct of the Prime Minister’s roadshow.
