Dahod, May 26: Marking the 10th anniversary of his swearing-in as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi returned to his home state Gujarat on a two-day visit, delivering a stirring speech in Dahod that invoked tribal pride, nationalism, and India’s transformative journey since 2014.

In a grand show of public support, PM Modi was welcomed with chants and cheers in Vadodara and later in Dahod, where he addressed a massive gathering. The visit came close on the heels of the successful Sindoor Samman Yatra and a vibrant roadshow in Vadodara, where he also met the family of martyr Colonel Sophia.

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw joined the Prime Minister on stage, where he was presented with a statue of tribal icon Lord Birsa Munda a symbolic tribute to the region’s heritage and a commemorative photo frame of Operation Sindoor.

Addressing the crowd, PM Modi said, “Exactly ten years ago, I took oath as Prime Minister. In 2024, I stand before you again with the blessings of 140 crore Indians.” He declared that the country had broken free from “decades of shackles” since 2014 and was now surging ahead in all sectors.

The highlight of the visit was the launch and dedication of development projects worth Rs 24,000 crore, including a Rs 20,000 crore Railway Production Unit under the ‘Made in Dahod’ initiative. The unit will manufacture locomotive engines and is expected to transform the tribal region into a hub of industrial activity and employment.

PM Modi’s address carried emotional and assertive undertones. Referring to the covert Operation Sindoor, he said, “This mission is not just military. It reflects our emotions. Those behind terror can’t even imagine what it means to face Modi.”

He also condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, saying, “They didn’t just target our soldiers, they challenged 140 crore Indians. And I fulfilled my responsibility as Pradhan Sevak.” He claimed that Indian forces had identified and destroyed nine terror camps across the border in just 22 minutes on May 6, calling it a military feat unmatched in recent decades.

With powerful rhetoric, symbolic gestures, and big-ticket development announcements, PM Modi’s Gujarat visit was as much about honouring the past as it was about laying the groundwork for what he described as the rise of “New India.”
