Ahmedabad, May 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is embarking on a significant two-day visit to his home state of Gujarat, marking his first visit post-Operation Sindoor. The high-profile tour will witness the inauguration and foundation stone laying of infrastructure and welfare projects amounting to a staggering Rs 82,000 cr.
The visit kicks off with PM Modi’s arrival in Dahod, where he will inaugurate the state-of-the-art Loco Manufacturing Shop-Rolling Stock Workshop. He will also address a public gathering at Kharod, Dahod and lay the foundation stone for railway and various development initiatives worth Rs 24,000 cr.

In a key highlight of the day, the Prime Minister will flag off the Somnath–Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express and inaugurate a major railway production unit in Dahod, a project developed at an investment exceeding Rs 21,000 cr under the government’s flagship ‘Make in India’ campaign.
Further boosting the region's basic infrastructure, PM Modi will dedicate four group water supply schemes built at a cost of Rs 181 cr. These schemes aim to supply 100 LPCD of clean drinking water to over 4.62 lakh people in 193 villages and one town across Mahisagar and Dahod districts.
The PM’s visit will continue to Bhuj, where he is set to unveil development works worth over Rs 53,000 cr. These include transformative projects in sectors such as port infrastructure at Kandla, renewable energy, power transmission, and road connectivity, benefiting key districts like Kutch, Jamnagar, Amreli, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Ahmedabad, Tapi, and Mahisagar.
At 7:30 pm, Modi will lead a massive 3-km roadshow from Ahmedabad Airport to Indira Bridge, where an enthusiastic crowd of over 50,000 BJP workers and citizens is expected to participate. The Prime Minister will retire for the night at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar.
On the morning of May 27, another grand 2-km roadshow will be held in Gandhinagar starting at 10:30 am, drawing an expected crowd of more than 30,000 party karyakartas.
Culminating his visit, PM Modi will attend a grand function at Mahatma Mandir, where he will lay the foundation and inaugurate projects worth Rs 5,536 cr. Key highlights include the dedication of 22,055 homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, built at a cost of Rs 1,006 cr, and the foundation stone laying of the much-anticipated Phase-3 of the Sabarmati Riverfront project, which comes with an investment of Rs 1,000 cr.
