Madikeri, May 25: Tanmayi M N from Madikeri, who initially secured fourth place in the SSLC exam, has now achieved the first rank in Karnataka after revaluation. Originally scoring 622 marks, Tanmayi’s marks rose to a perfect 625 after revaluation, securing him the top spot in the state.
The recently announced SSLC results showed a pass percentage of 62.34%. This year, 24 students scored a full 625 out of 625 marks. Tanmayi, a student at Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya in Mysuru and son of M A Niranjan, president of Madikeri Advocates Association, and Soumya, has brought honour to the state by clinching first place.
The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board had earlier declared Tanmayi’s score as 622 out of 625. However, believing strongly in his potential, he applied for revaluation and was rewarded with a full 625 marks.
This year, out of 8,42,173 students, 5,24,984 passed, with girls outperforming boys at a pass percentage of 74%. Dakshina Kannada district topped with a pass rate of 91.12%, followed by Udupi in second place and Uttara Kannada in third. Kalaburagi district recorded the lowest pass percentage at 42%.
The second SSLC exam is scheduled from May 26 to June 2, with a third and final exam planned between June 23 and 30 for those who fail again.
