New Delhi, May 25: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reaffirmed her government’s commitment to resolving public grievances with transparency, sensitivity, and speed. As part of this push, the city’s public grievance portal will soon be upgraded to offer a more user-friendly interface, allowing citizens to file and track complaints with ease.

“This is not just a grievance redressal programme; it is our commitment to listen to the people and find solutions,” CM Gupta said. “We are not rulers but public servants.”

Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of good governance, the Delhi government has also launched weekly Jan Sunwai grievance redressal camps, which are held every Saturday across all revenue districts. These camps are organised in coordination with Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, Councillors, and senior officials from over 18 departments, including the Delhi Police, Municipal Corporation, and power companies.

What sets the initiative apart is its accessibility these grievance hearings are conducted not just at government offices but also at local schools, community centres, chaupals, and baraat ghars to ensure wider public participation.

An official statement said that over 1,000 complaints have been recorded so far, with many resolved on the spot and others forwarded to the appropriate departments. Key concerns raised include water supply, sanitation, road repairs, encroachments, and law and order issues.

The Jan Sunwai camp on May 17 saw participation from over 1,260 citizens, while the May 24 camp drew more than 1,350 people—highlighting growing public trust in the initiative.

The upgraded grievance portal will include an online feedback mechanism and real-time complaint tracking to further improve government-citizen communication, officials said.
