Bikaner, May 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday issued a stern warning to Pakistan, declaring that the neighbouring country will not receive a single drop of water from India’s rivers. Addressing a public rally in Deshnoke, Bikaner, PM Modi reaffirmed India’s decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, linking it directly to Islamabad’s continued support for cross-border terrorism.
"Pakistan will not get a single drop of India's water. Playing with the blood of Indians will cost Pakistan dearly. This is our firm resolve, and no power in the world can change it," the Prime Minister stated, receiving loud cheers from the crowd.

He further warned, “If Pakistan continues to export terrorists, it will be left begging for every penny.”
India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty a pact brokered by the World Bank in 1960 after the April 22 terrorist attack in Baisaran near Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. The treaty outlines water-sharing rights over the Indus and its tributaries between the two nuclear-armed nations.
While Pakistan recently urged India to reconsider the move, calling it unilateral and a breach of the agreement, India has stood firm. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar reiterated that discussions with Pakistan would be limited solely to terrorism.
“The Prime Minister has made it clear the only talks will be on terror. Pakistan knows what needs to be done: hand over wanted terrorists and shut down terror infrastructure,” Jaishankar said. He added that the Indus Waters Treaty will remain in abeyance until cross-border terrorism is “irrevocably stopped.”
Referring to India’s retaliatory action after the Pahalgam attack, Modi highlighted the success of Operation Sindoor. He said nine major terror hideouts were destroyed in just 22 minutes.
“Though the bullets were fired in Pahalgam, they struck the hearts of 140 crore Indians. Every Indian vowed to turn terrorists to dust and our forces delivered,” he said.
Lauding the armed forces, Modi said, “All three forces worked in coordination to create such a chakravyuh (military trap) that Pakistan was brought to its knees.”
Calling Operation Sindoor a new form of justice, the PM concluded, “This is not just anger this is capable India, fierce and determined.”
