Puttur, May 22: A gas tanker overturned near Kodyakallu in Shiradi village on Wednesday, leaving the driver critically injured. The mishap took place when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle on the roadside stretch.

The injured driver, identified as Babli Yadav, was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition is said to be serious, according to local sources.

Fortunately, there was no gas leakage reported from the tanker, averting a potential disaster. Vehicular movement on the highway remained unaffected, providing relief to daily commuters and authorities.

This marks the third accident in Shiradi village within just four days, raising concerns over road safety and the condition of the highway in the ghat section.
