Beltangady: Akanksha’s mortal remains reach native village after ending life in Punjab

Beltangady, May 21: In a heart-wrenching development, the mortal remains of 22-year-old Akanksha S Nair, who died by suicide in Punjab on May 17, were brought to her native village in Beltangady taluk on Wednesday, May 21.

Akanksha, daughter of Surendra Nair and Sindhu Devi of Boliyar near Dharmasthala, was working as an aerospace engineer in Delhi. Reports indicate that she ended her life by jumping off a college building in Punjab.

Her body was flown to Bengaluru and was brought to her home in Boliyar by ambulance at around 9 am on Wednesday.

The tragic incident has left the local community in shock. Akanksha was the second daughter in the family and known to be academically bright and professionally accomplished.

Further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the suicide are awaited as investigations continue.
