Bengaluru, May 13: A youth has been arrested by the Bandepalya police in Bengaluru for uploading a provocative video on social media calling for a bomb attack on the residence of prime minister Narendra Modi. The accused, identified as Nawaz, was taken into custody after the video went viral. He is currently lodged in Parappana Agrahara jail.

In the video, Nawaz allegedly says, “There is a war between India and Pakistan. Why hasn't Pakistan bombed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s house yet? It is Modi who has created this situation while everyone else was living peacefully. First, a bomb should be dropped on Modi’s house.”

Nawaz reportedly shared the video through an account under the name "Public Servant ID". Based on this, Bandepalya police registered a case and initiated action against him.

Just a few days ago, authorities in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts had taken action against individuals for allegedly sharing pro-Pakistan content on social media. Some suspects were detained in those cases. Now, a fresh incident involving a provocative video targeting Prime Minister Modi has emerged from Bengaluru.

The development comes in the backdrop of recent military tensions. On April 22, terrorists attacked tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. In retaliation, the Indian Army carried out operations targeting four locations in Pakistan and five in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. In response, the Pakistani military attacked Indian civilians and allegedly conspired to strike 15 Indian cities. The Indian forces retaliated by destroying several Pakistani airbases and air defense systems. Following a request by Pakistan's director general of military operations, India agreed to a ceasefire.
