Vijayapura tragedy: Toddler dies after falling into open well in Muddebihal

Vijayapura, May 10: In a heartbreaking incident, a three-year-old child lost his life after accidentally falling into an open well in Muddebihal town of Vijayapura district.

The deceased has been identified as Harshit Patil, a three-year-old boy who had gone missing on Friday. The child, who had been playing near the open well, reportedly slipped and fell into it. Despite frantic efforts by the family to locate him, there was no information about his whereabouts until Saturday.

Local residents, during a search operation, descended into the open well where they tragically found the lifeless body of the child. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the neighbourhood.

According to family members, Harshit had been left to play near the open well when the unfortunate mishap occurred. The incident has raised questions about safety measures around open wells in residential areas.

A case has been registered at the Muddebihal police station and further investigation is underway.
