Bengaluru, May 9: Amid rising border tensions and the recent terror attack at Pahalgam, the Karnataka Congress on Friday organised a massive Tiranga Yatra in Bengaluru to show solidarity with the Indian armed forces and express support for Operation Sindoor.
The rally began from K R Circle and culminated at Minsk Square near Chinnaswamy Stadium here. Led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, deputy CM and KPCC president D K Shivakumar, and senior cabinet ministers, the yatra witnessed widespread participation from party workers, students, and ex-servicemen.
A similar show of support was held in Udupi, where residents took out a procession waving the national flag in support of the ongoing military operation.

Deputy CM Shivakumar, addressing the crowd, said, “We invited people from all walks of life to stand united with our armed forces. The overwhelming turnout shows the country’s collective resolve.”
He emphasised that it was every citizen’s duty to support Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the killing of 26 tourists in Pahalgam by Pakistan-backed terrorists.
Home minister G Parmeshwara said the rally aimed to send a symbolic yet powerful message of moral support. Law minister H K Patil praised the forces for their successful response, calling them the “strongest and most intelligent in the world.”
Minority welfare minister Zameer Ahmed Khan announced that special Friday prayers would be held in mosques across Karnataka for the well-being of soldiers engaged in Operation Sindoor. He said the Waqf Board had issued directions for all mosques under its jurisdiction to join in the prayers.
The Congress-led yatra, marked by tricolour flags and patriotic chants, added to the growing wave of public and political support for the Indian military’s counter-terrorism actions across the border.
