Lucknow, May 9: In a powerful address on the occasion of Maharana Pratap Jayanti, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called for national unity and reaffirmed his unwavering faith in the country's armed forces amid escalating tensions with Pakistan. Speaking to a gathering in Lucknow, CM Yogi lauded the bravery of the Indian armed forces and asserted that India will always emerge victorious in the face of challenges.
"With full integrity and responsibility, we all must boost the morale of our armed forces. We must stand firmly with our security forces. At the same time, any mischievous act that threatens our security must be exposed," CM Yogi said, emphasizing the need for a united front to support the military.
Addressing concerns over misinformation, particularly through social media, the Chief Minister urged the public to remain vigilant and not fall prey to rumors. "There will be various mischiefs, especially through social media, and attempts will be made to spread rumors. But without worrying about any of that, the entire nation must follow the guidance provided by the central leadership, especially our respected Prime Minister Modi," he advised.
Reinforcing India's indomitable spirit, CM Yogi declared, “India is a winner and it will stay a winner; there’s no doubt in it.”
These remarks come in the wake of heightened India-Pakistan tensions following a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 people. In retaliation, India launched 'Operation Sindoor', targeting terrorist base camps across the Line of Control (LoC) and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
As the situation continued to intensify, reports emerged of Pakistani drone and artillery attacks along the Western Border, alongside multiple ceasefire violations. The Indian Army, however, remains resolute, issuing a statement affirming its commitment to the nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity: “Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nation. All nefarious designs will be responded to with force.”
Earlier in the day, CM Yogi paid floral tributes to Maharana Pratap in Lucknow, hailing him as a "national hero" and paying homage to his selfless sacrifice for the country. He shared a tribute on social media, stating: "On the occasion of the sacred birth anniversary of 'Hindu Surya', the great son of Mother India, national hero, Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap, paid homage to him by offering floral tribute to his statue in Lucknow today. His sacrifice and self-denial for his country and religion will always remain an inspiration for the present and future generations. Millions of salutations to his holy feet!"
