Mangaluru, Mar 13: A retired BSNL employee has been arrested for allegedly attempting to murder his neighbor by deliberately ramming his car into his motorcycle in a long-standing dispute.

The accused, identified as Satish Kumar K M (69), a resident of Kirodian Road, Kapikad, Bejai and the victim, Murali Prasad, have reportedly been engaged in a prolonged conflict. According to the police, Satish Kumar had previously been booked in 2023 by the Urwa police for allegedly verbally abusing and intentionally colliding with Murali Prasad’s father while riding a bike.

The latest incident occurred around 8:15 am on March 13 at the 6th Main Road in Bijai Kapikad. Murali Prasad was riding his motorcycle (KA-19-Y-5145) when the accused, waiting in his car (KA-19-P-2570), allegedly drove at high speed and hit him with the intention of killing him. After striking the motorcycle, Satish Kumar’s car reportedly also hit a pedestrian woman, causing her to suffer bleeding injuries. Murali Prasad sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The police have taken Satish Kumar K M into custody and seized his vehicle. A case has been registered at the Urwa police station for attempted murder, and a separate case has been filed at the Mangaluru Traffic West police station for negligent driving and causing injuries to a pedestrian.

The accused was produced before the court, which has remanded him to judicial custody.

Hang Satish Kumar by his leg on the same fence spear just like the poor lady was left hanging. Then pour some kerosene and burn him alive.

When our young earning youths die due to accidents and heart attacks, this kind of terror minded people are still living on this planet. Court should give him harsh lifelong imprisonment and rot in jail. Looking at his past history, he will again cause trouble to that family if left on bail.
