Mangaluru, May 25: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management (SCEM), Mangaluru, an autonomous institute affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, was established in the year 2007 under Bhandary Foundation. The college is approved by AICTE, New Delhi & also government of Karnataka (GoK). It is accredited by i) National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with ‘A’ grade, ii) National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for five engineering programmes, and iii) the Institution of Engineers (India) (IE(I)). The college is recognized under section 2(f) and 12(b) of University Grants Commission (UGC) act and as an Innovation Cell by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), India. Sahyadri has been accorded with the recognition of Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), ministry of science and technology, government of India (GoI).
The college also houses New Age Incubation Network (NAIN)/K-Tech since 2017 to promote product development and incubation, recognized by MSME as Host Institute (HI) to establish technical Business Incubator (BI) in 2020. The Institute is listed in the top 25 most innovative self-financed private institution in India by ATAL Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement (ARIIA) 2020 and in band “Excellent” in Private Engineering Colleges in 2021. The Institute has been awarded 4-star ranking by the MHRD-IIC for three successive years, 2019-2021. Sahyadri has collaborations and networking with many national and international research organizations, educational institutions and industries.
Sahyadri promotes the idea of Project-Based Learning (PBL) through various activities and initiatives in association with various in-house industries, which helps the graduates to improve their expertise. Throughout the programme, students will be provided an opportunity and platform by various institutional initiatives to exhibit/improve their talents and skill at national and international events hosted by premier institutes such as IITs/NITs/IIITs/SAEs/colleges and universities abroad.
INFRASTRUCTURE
The in-house industries and start-ups are the main forte of the college. Sahyadri campus is equipped with all modern audio-visual facilities, including an aesthetically designed food court and a well-developed sports facility with 400 m athletic track, gymnasium, etc. The hostels at Sahyadri provide a home away from home experience with round the clock mentoring by mentors. The college exhibits of a secured and well-connected campus which has facilities round-the-clock to all the members of the Sahyadri family.
PLACEMENT DEPARTMENT
Over 250 companies visit the campus every year for recruitment. Some of the highest packages offered are - Microsoft 40.00 LPA, Adobe 27.70 LPA, Cohesity 24.50 LPA, SPG – 23.00 LPA, Amazon 16.00 LPA, Topper - 15.50 LPA, Anglo Eastern -15.00 LPA, Money View – 12.00 LPA, Juspay technologies - 12.00 LPA, HSBC -12.00 LPA, SAP – 10.00 LPA, Accolite Software – 10.00 LPA. The average package being 4.00 LPA.
The placement department also actively takes part in providing internship opportunities to the students and has also set up aptitude lab for continual assessment of students.
THE CAMPUS
The sprawling campus just off the Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway 48 is situated on the banks of the river Netravati surrounded with natures pristine beauty and an excellent infrastructure coupled with dedicated and experienced faculty, thus making the campus a much sought-after abode of learning.
