After his retirement from the army, Col D’Souza dedicated his civilian life to education. He served as a Special Officer for MIT Hostels for two years before becoming the principal of Dr T M A Pai Polytechnic, Manipal, a position he held for 12 years with great distinction until his retirement. His contributions extended to the Christ Church in Manipal, where he served as vice-president of the society and played a pivotal role in establishing Christ School. He remained a guiding force for the school as a member of its managing committee.
Col. D’Souza is survived by his wife Elsie, his daughter Carrol and son-in-law Vishal, his sons Carey and daughter-in-law Christian, and Clive and daughter-in-law Asha. He also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren, Anirudh, Calvin, and Anjali.
The funeral cortege will depart from his residence at 104, Mandavi Palace, Manipal on Friday, May 24, at 9:50 am. The funeral mass will be held at Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte-Kalianpur, on Friday, May 24, at 10:30 am.
