Mangaluru: Sky dining hotel to come up at Panambur beach

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Apr 21: An exciting opportunity is on the horizon for the public to savor delectable cuisine while gazing upon the picturesque cityscape from a lofty height of 120 feet above ground level.

A sky dining hotel is in the works at Panambur beach, marking the first of its kind in Karnataka and aiming to enhance the allure of beach tourism.

The Kadali Beach Tourism organization, entrusted with the task of developing Panambur beach, has unveiled this innovative project. The hotel is slated for inauguration in the first week of May.

With capacity for 16 diners at a time, guests can enjoy their meals accompanied by music, all while securely fastened with mandatory safety belts. A separate cabin has been designated for catering and technical staff, and advance food reservations are encouraged. Pricing details will be announced shortly.

Sky dining promises a thrilling adventure as well. The cabin, constructed of transparent glass and iron, will be hoisted to a height of 120 feet using a crane. Offering tables and chairs, diners will be treated to breathtaking views of the sea on one side and the city's beauty on the other.

Sky dining experiences have gained popularity across the country, attracting numerous tourists. The construction of the crane, essential for elevating diners to the 120-foot level, is yet to commence. Ensuring safety is paramount, with the contractor assuring adherence to international standards in construction.

In addition to sky dining, the tourism company's CEO, Laxmish Bhandary, has secured permission from the district administration and tourism department for adventure sports, water sports, and traditional restaurants.

Manikya, assistant director of the tourism department, views sky dining as a unique and captivating addition to the attractions at Panambur beach, sure to draw visitors from far and wide.

As they claim to adhere to safety standards to international level, i am sure it shall never ever be maintained. M'lore having humid and moist salty weather, shall surely worn out the steel wires very soon and this kind of dinning is nothing but risking the life of public. It may be an adventure, but the area chosen is wrong. This sky dinning are already existing in other countries, mainly which got started in china (Shenzhen) and there was a mishap which lead to death of all the 24 diners, where the whole platform came down from 200 ft and getting in deep ocean. God save these diners with their lives....

In India, without having life insurance, I will not take any risk. Just now in news, that India's biggest brand Everest and msg curry powder is banned in Singapore because it has carcinogens. I don't think health dept will do anything. Infact, they will see if money can be done out of this situation. There is no value for health and life in India by the govt. People are also sleeping and thinking hindu muslim is the biggest issue.
