Malikayya Guttedar, Sharada Mohan Shetty join Congress

Bengaluru, Apr 19: Former minister and senior BJP leader from Afzalpur in Kalaburgi Malikayya Guttedar, who had quit BJP, joined the Congress party in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC chief and deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar at the KPCC office on Friday. 

Guttedar’s induction into the Congress party is expected to give a big boost to the Congress candidate Dr Radhakrishna Doddamani, son in law of AICC Chief Mallikarjuna Kharge, in Kalaburgi parliamentary constituency.

Another former MLA Sharada Mohan Shetty, who hails from Kumta in Uttara Kannada district, also joined the Congress party.

Senior Congress leaders, including IT/BT and Rural Development Minister Priyank Kharge were also present.
