Puttur, Oct 5: A 59-year-old man died after suffering chest pain and collapsing while travelling by bus from Nidpalli to Puttur on Friday, October 3.
The deceased has been identified as Krishnappa Naik, a resident of Kootelu in Nidpalli.
Krishnappa was travelling to Puttur when the bus reached Irde, and he suddenly complained of chest pain and collapsed. He was immediately taken off the bus and shifted to a Puttur hospital in another vehicle. However, doctors examined him and declared him dead.

Krishnappa was a progressive farmer and was also known for serving as a pallbearer during the annual festival of the village deities of Nidpalli. He was a member of the trust of Sri Shantadurga Temple.
He is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
