Puttur: Man loses Rs 46.1 lac in share market fraud

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (MS)

Puttur, Apr 8: A man fell victim to a fraudulent advertisement on Facebook promising lucrative returns through share market investments, resulting in a loss of Rs 46.1 lac.

Mohammed Ansaf M (40), the son of Salmara Aashiyana U Abdulla Haji, reported the scam to the CEN police after being swindled.

On February 20, Mohammed encountered an advertisement on Facebook promoting share market investments. Upon clicking the link, he was redirected to a WhatsApp page where a stranger provided information about stocks and directed him to join a WhatsApp group named "Jasmine," administered by the group admin.

In the Jasmine group, members instructed Mohammed to join another WhatsApp group and click on a provided link, leading him to the "Global Investors" WhatsApp group comprising over 100 members.

Within the Global Investors group, Mohammed received instructions on trading and was prompted to download the Ansaf Viking Trading app. He proceeded to open a trading account, providing his Aadhar card, mobile number, and bank account details. Subsequently, a person on WhatsApp guided him to invest money into specific codes and various bank accounts.

Consequently, Mohammed transferred Rs 10,000 into an account on February 21, followed by Rs 46.1 lac in multiple transactions to various bank accounts as instructed. Only Rs two lakh were refunded to Mohammed's account, leaving the remaining amount unrecovered.

If police put little more effort they can catch them. There is bank account, phone number and to open bank account bank will collect adhar card, pan card, photo everything. It is easy now a days to catch the culprits. Police has to make mind that is all needed.

@Christine; once the money is debited from your account it's almost impossible to get the money trail or the culprits mind it as the whole cheating exercise is so finely orcharated. BTW; it is evident that this person had lots of easy money to donate it so easily to scamsters!

Christine; Do you know without the active connivance of bankers such type of frauds are impossible; you are too naive; all these rules and regulations are strictly only meant for law abiding (pappa, manga) citizens; I hope you understand😉!!

If you want to invest in share market, do it directly through HDFC,ICICI, SBI or similar who have in-house bank and brokerage and are reliable and safe. Buy for longterm and good well managed companies. Do not buy on tips and do not go for money doubling schemes.
