Mangaluru, Apr 6: Anna's Kitchen, a special publication from the Ian Cares Foundation, featuring popular and innovative recipes from homes and restaurant kitchens, was launched by Giselle Mehta, the celebrated author of best-selling books, on Saturday, April 6.

The event, held on the birthday of the late Anna Mascarenhas, a renowned culinary expert and social worker, was graced by Fr Andrew Leo D'Souza, parish priest of St Lawrence Church, Bondel, and Fr Faustine Lobo, parish priest of Kinnigoli Church, as guests of honour.

Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld Media, presided over the event.

Giselle Mehta commended Stephan Mascarenhas and the management of the Ian Cares Foundation for their efforts in publishing a recipe book, fulfilling the dream of Anna Mascarenhas. She remarked, "Culinary expertise is truly a remarkable talent that encompasses a diverse range of skills, knowledge, and creativity. It involves the skillful transformation of basic ingredients into exquisite dishes that tantalize the taste buds and delight the senses. Culinary experts possess a profound understanding of flavor profiles, cooking techniques, and food presentation, enabling them to create culinary masterpieces that reflect their passion and dedication to the craft. Anna's Kitchen features delicious recipes curated by renowned chefs and culinary experts. Through this book, we can feel the presence of Madam Anna Mascarenhas in our kitchens, where she herself crafted many of her own recipes."

In his presidential address, Walter Nandalike said, "Anna Mascarenhas was the inaugural culinary columnist of the Daijiworld news portal, where she garnered her own dedicated fan base. Anna Bai's journey of compassion and service began with a simple yet profound belief that every individual, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves dignity, respect, and opportunity. Throughout her life, Anna Bai demonstrated an unparalleled dedication to alleviating the suffering of others. But perhaps most importantly, Anna Bai's legacy serves as a beacon of hope – a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there are individuals like her who embody the very best of humanity and inspire us to strive for a better, more just world."

Fr Andrew Leo and Fr Faustine Lobo commended the service of the Ian Cares Foundation and the objectives behind the release of Anna's Kitchen.

Stephan Mascarenhas, founder of the Ian Cares Foundation, shared his thoughts on Anna's Kitchen and expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the book's creation. Ina Mascarenhas, daughter of Anna Mascarenhas, welcomed the gathering. Hera Pinto compered the event.
