Kolar, Apr 6: “Ignore the lies peddled by BJP as it is a factory of lies. Congress government’s guarantees have a five-year warranty period,’’ declared Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Kolar on Saturday.
Addressing a Congress roadshow after offering special puja at the Kurudumalai Ganapathy temple in Kolar, he predicted that the Congress candidate Dr K V Gowtham would with a thumping majority in the Kolar Lok Sabha constituency.
Lambasting the opposition BJP for its ‘false campaign’ that the Congress government’s guarantees will be stopped after the elections, Siddaramaiah said the Congress government’s guarantees have a warranty of five years and they will continue.
The Congress candidate Dr K V Gowtham is a gentleman, who has come up the hard way and has grown as an ordinary party worker, he said.
The Chief Minister explained that the guarantees were chalked out following the spiralling price rise of essential commodities under the Narendra Modi regime as the prices of petrol, diesel, LPG cylinders, fertilisers, cooking oil, pulses and vegetables was beyond the reach of the poor and common man.
The five guarantees were evolved during the assembly campaign after much deliberations and were implemented following the resounding victory of the Congress party unmindful of the negative publicity of BJP, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders, who alleged that the guarantees would lead to financial bankruptcy, he said and made it clear that the Congress government has proved the fallacy of BJP.
Congress will wrest Kolar seat back: Shivakumar
Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar exuded confidence that the Congress party would wrest the Kolar parliamentary seat back from the BJP.
“Kolar has always been a Congress bastion, BJP and JDS won once each accidentally. We will wrest the seat back this time. Congress leaders from the district, including Ramesh Kumar, worked hard to get treated water from Bengaluru. Today, treated water from Bengaluru has made the lives of farmers in the district better,” he said.
The KPCC Chief said the party has given the ticket to a youngster for Kolar. “I spoke to the people of the district and they are grateful to the five guarantee schemes of the Congress government. These are the five guarantee schemes promised by Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar during the Assembly elections,” he said.
Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have announced 25 guarantee schemes under 5 Nyay schemes if Congress party comes to power in the Centre. This is the guarantee cheque of the Congress party. A woman of the house will get Rs 1 lakh per year on the lines of Gruhalakshmi scheme. Youth will get a stipend of Rs 1 lakh per year. MGNREGA workers will get wage of Rs 400 per day. Farmers will get MSP, loan waiver and insurance of Rs 25 lakh. Congress party will provide social security to all the people, he explained.
He said BJP has not given tickets to half of its sitting MPs from the State, which shows its insecurity. BJP will not be able to win even 200 seats in the country. Congress government will come to power in the Centre and it will benefit all of you.
