Mangaluru, Apr 6: Hameed, the husband of a murder victim and father of their child, who were killed in Panjimogaru back in 2011, was the target of an attempted stabbing and murder. The incident occurred at a rented house near the Ullal Municipal Council office on Saturday, April 6. Hameed, a resident of Panjimogaru staying at the rented house, sustained serious injuries from the stabbing and has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

The accused in the attack is suspected to be Javed, a well-known swimmer residing in the Mangaluru port area. It is believed that a dispute over money matters led to the attack. Ullal police have launched a manhunt for the accused.

The murders of the mother, Razia (32), and the child, Fathima Zuha (7), had made headlines in the district and across the state. It may be recalled that they were stabbed and killed in broad daylight near their home in Panjimogaru near Kavoor on June 28, 2011.
