Padubidri: Bus driver parks bus, blocks road following argument over timings

Daijiworld Media Network – Padubidri (EP)

Padubidri, April 4: In a bizarre incident, a bus driver kept blocking the highway while driving the vehicle and took rest in the bus stand after argument broke out over the timings of the bus.

The incident happened on Thursday, April 4, in the afternoon. There were arguments between timekeeper Sharath and Azeez, the driver of the private bus running between Udupi and Mangaluru regarding the timings.

Driver Azeez got annoyed as timekeeper Sharath waylaid the SMMS service bus when it reached Padubidri and parked the bus blocking the highway while taking rest in the bus stand.

A police complaint and a counter complaint have been filed with Padubidri police station in this connection.

Argument continued for nearly five minutes till Padubidri police intervened. The incident disrupted traffic on the one way road from Udupi to Mangaluru. Locals and other motorists who gathered at the spot, expressed anguish over bus driver's behaviour.

Fine both owner and driver heavily. Minimum 1 lac fine each/-. Then all these nuisances will stop. Private bus drivers are very rude and think they can do anything. They stop in the middle of the road to pick passengers and block the traffic.

The private buses operating in our area have become a serious hazard to road safety. These drivers display a concerning level of aggression and rudeness, engaging in rough driving maneuvers and incessant honking that not only disrupts the flow of traffic but also endangers the lives of other road users. Pedestrians, cyclists, small car drivers, and riders of two-wheelers are particularly vulnerable to the dangers posed by these buses. The sheer size and speed of these vehicles make them a significant threat. What is even more troubling is the apparent lack of action on the part of the traffic police to address this issue. Despite numerous complaints and reports of dangerous driving behavior, it seems that these drivers continue to operate with impunity, without any repercussions for their actions.

I think because of DK and Udupi administration failed to control the private buses. All private buses must run under KSRTC, like in Delhi all buses run under DTC( Delhi transport Corporation)

Result of immense mental pressure by the owners to collect more money added to the ambient temperatures far exceeding the threshold limits of human tolerance... (38°C with 50%+ humidity) such incidents (altered mental state) are bound to happen. BTW; heard about many incidents, around the Smart City, of people, both young and old, suddenly getting afflicted with "heat 🔥strokes"....... now taking adequate precautions to protect oneself away from the extreme heat.... along with prayers to one's favorite God's or Spirit's is the only remedy..... 😔🤟🙏🙏
