Mumbai, Mar 19: The concluding event of cultural arts festival by Kannadiga Kalavidara Parishat was held at Radhabai Thimmappa Bhandary auditorium, Kurla east on March 16. Aikala Harish Shetty, president of Global Bunts Federation and chief guest of the occasion inaugurated the programme.

The programme held under the cooperation of the Karnataka government department of culture was presided over by Kannadiga Kalavidara Parishat Maharashtra president Dr Surendra Kumar Hegde. Chief manager of Pejavar mutt Mumbai, Vedamurthi Dr Ramadas Upadhyaya blessed the occasion.

Sadashiva Shetty Kanyana, Thonse Jayakrishna A Shetty, Dr R K Shetty, Karnire Vishwanath Shetty, Dr Sunita M Shetty, Dr Suresh S Rao Kateel, Suryakanth Jaya Suvarna, Dr Bhageeratha Shanbhog, Karnataka Malla editor Chandrashekar Palethady and Bantara Sangha Mumbai ladies wing president Chitra R Shetty were present.

The annual Kalashree award sponsored by Dr R K Shetty, president of R K Shetty Company was presented to well-known Yakshagana artiste K K Shetty by the guests. Prakash B Bhandary, recipient of Karnataka Rajyotsava award was felicitated by the guests.

Honorary chief secretary Chandrashekar Bhat, honorary treasurer P B Chandrahas, joint secretary Chandravati Devadiga, joint treasurer Navin Shetty Inna Balike, ladies wing president Tara Bangera and convener Ramesh Shivapura and others were on the dais. Sadashiva Shetty Kanyana, Dr R K Shetty, parishat president Dr Surendra Kumar Hegde, vice president Kamalaksha G Saraf and Srinivas P Safalya were felicitated.

First prize winners in dance competitions Kannada Seva Sangha Thane, second prize winners Amita Kala Mandira, Mira Road and third prize winners Chinnara Bimba Povai were given away prizes. Competition judges Dr Manali Pavan, Sahana Bharadwaj and Krishnaraj D Shetty were honored.

Bhajans, dance competition, musical evening, skits and Yakshagana play were performed.

Shravya Hegde, Trisha Hegde and Tanusha Shetty sang a prayer. Srinivas Safalya welcomed. Polya Lakshminarayana Shetty gave a congratulatory speech. G T Acharya read a letter of felicitation. Ashok Pakkala and Karnur Mohan Rai compered the programme. Chandrashekar Bhat proposed a vote of thanks.
