Udupi: ‘Decision on political career within a week’, says J P Hegde on contesting Lok Sabha polls

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Mar 4: "Decision about my political career will be taken within one week after consulting with my friends and family,” stated Jayaprakash Hegde, former chairman of the Other Backward Class Commission and a prominent leader.

"I am pleased that my name is receiving attention in the media. Neither the Congress party nor I have officially confirmed any plans regarding my joining the Congress party. Today, I will be traveling to Bengaluru for personal matters, and upon my return, I will make a decision regarding my political career. Upon my appointment as the chairman of the Backward Class Commission, I naturally became a nonpartisan individual, so currently, I am not affiliated with any political party," he added.

Speaking about contesting polls from the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency, Hegde stated, “I will first decide whether to contest or not, and then consider which party to align with. If I choose not to contest, I will find mental peace. However, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the poorest of the poor during my tenure as chairman of the commission.”

Respected Mr Korgi jayaprakash Hegde, instead of contesting the 2024 general election with congress ticket, if U contest, you will face a humiliating defeat with a marin of more or less 5,00,000 vote's. The best option for mr hegde, retire from the active politics, with full dignity like your the then fellow colleague's H Pratap chandra shetty (7 times MLA -MLC) & Halady srinivas shetty(5 times MLA ). In politics you have reached the pinnacle of sucess, you have shown & vouched to the young aspiring politician's , "The next step of defeat is sucess". In 1994 assembly election You have won as a Janata dal candidate, became a capable minister in the then ruling government, twice as a independent, as an MP. You have own the millions heart's of people in all the parties, janata dal, congress, BJP & independent, irrespective of people's religion, caste, linguistic etc etc.

JP Sir is anytime better than kureakka.... At least he will represent real issues in the parliament concerning common people... When such eminent people decide to contest people must not see which party shelters him... If people choose to give second chance to the incumbent in Udupi it will be mini Pratibha Patil repeat....
