Mangaluru, Mar 1: A man killed himself within minutes of his wife’s death by consuming pesticide at Gramachavadi under Konaje police station limits.

The deceased are identified as Meenakshi Poojary (59) and her husband Sheshappa Poojary (63), residents of Gramachavadi. Meenakshi was working in a local switchboard manufacturing company, while her husband Sheshappa was a driver by profession.

Meenakshi was suffering from a heart ailment and was undergoing treatment. On the night of Tuesday, she developed acute chest pain and was admitted to the hospital by her husband Sheshappa and relatives. Sheshappa was at the hospital from Wednesday morning till evening.

Upon his return home, one of his relatives conveyed to him that his wife Meenakshi had passed away. Sheshappa immediately consumed pesticide. Although his relatives and neighbours managed to remove the bottle of pesticide from Sheshappa’s hand, a lethal amount had already been ingested. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed shortly afterward.

Meenakshi and her husband Sheshappa used to live with Meenakshi’s sister and her husband. They did not have any children.

Konaje police are continuing their investigation.

They should have adopted an orphan child earlier in life so the child would have been an emotional support to them and they would have had the good fortune of giving a good life to an orphan. This is just an personal opinion.

Om sadgathi to the souls of this wonderful couple. I wish/pray/want, all our men to be honest like this our great Seshappa anna...How beautiful this world would have been then? !! God also closed his ears and eyes and sat because our sins are soo much, 10000 ¹⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰ hells are not sufficient. God doesn't know from which corner he has to start the cleaning !!
