Mangaluru: Students, parents, VHP leader enquired in St Gerosa School dispute by IAS officer

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Feb 20: The inquiry into the St Gerosa school dispute is in full swing under the supervision of Akash Shankar, IAS, at the Zilla Panchayath on Tuesday, February 20.

Akash Shankar has been in the city for two days, conducting inquiries into the incident. On February 19, he inquired with officials, and on the current day, he met with parents, students, and complainants.

During his investigation, Akash Shankar also visited the school to gather information. He stated, "I have collected all the necessary information, and if required, I will call for further information. It's impossible to compile a report in just two days of inquiry, so more information needs to be gathered before the final report is submitted."

Emphasizing the importance of fairness in the report, Akash Shankar assured that no one would face injustice. "I will review all the statements and submit the final report to the government," he added.

Earlier in the morning, Akash Shankar conducted an inquiry with VHP leader and an old student of the school.

If she has really disrespected action should be taken as per law. I dont know why people are still defending her . If no the MLAs should apologize. Is this what your religion teaches you? to make fun of other religions? Can believe some people are defending her

This is the issue with these people. If a school has its rules and you don’t like it, DONT GO THERE. There are government schools, why enrol into a Catholic school? They all know their government schools are useless that’s why they come to our schools and then cause issues. If it’s such an issue, better the funding for your schools and send your children there. Catholic schools don’t need the extra children from other religions. Schools don’t discriminate and if you pay the fees they take you in but that doesn’t mean you can fault your ego and become junglee

Why can't you understand and accept the most simple fact that the teacher is wrong if she had talked about Ram mandir on the context of explaining Tagore's poem.

She can say whatever she likes. And how do you know she only spoke about temple and not about church buildings too? Were you there? But you choose to be blind and deaf and only focus on the temple aspect. And even if she said it (because we don’t know what she said), it’s a catholic school. She can say and teach what she likes. Why do you send your children to catholic schools?

Firstly, it is not sure whether the teacher has made such remarks. If at all the teacher had made the remarks, and all the Chaddhi and Beedi (BD) gangs have proof, let them file a FIR with the police instead of creating ruckus. Let a proper investigation be done and take appropriate action against the guilty. Secondly Chaddhi & Beedis are stating that the school is allowing to spot bindis, wear bangles etc. This has been the practice in this school from beginning as my wife studied in this school. Also, during the Hijab issue, Chaddi & Beedi’s argument was that every student is supposed to follow the rules and regulations of the institution and no concessions can be made to wear Hijab on religious grounds. Now why the same logic is not applied. Is the MLA a law maker or law breaker ? If he is so confident that the mistake is on part of the teacher, why can’t he file FIR. It is amply clear, looking at the impending elections, they wanted to create an issue to reap political mileage, as no positive developments happened during their regime. CM should have handled it with a iron fist just like Pinarayi Vijayan. Give warning first, then use water cannons, then use tear gas. 80% of the crowd will not be there on the second day.

MLA had no business to get involved in the incident. Police seems to obey orders of politicians in school administration. Anyone responsible for the incident must be punished.

Earlier MLAs had fear that they wud lose elections. Nowadays some legislators are very confident that they will 100% win elections. That's why we hear slogans abki baar 400 paar. This confidence only tells to the public that they are not in a position to make the legislators' lose. This is a dangerous trend. But some highly educated people do not understand that vote is given for nations well being and not from the kick that one gets to see bulldozer raj

We are actually to blame for it. Its happening because we vote on basis of religion. What these BJP politicians are simply doing in milking the cow to the maximum. Also I blame our police who do nothing but to dance to tunes on politicians instead of protecting the rights of the citizens.

Mbeary, Agree with you! But will Kamath allow any female members of his family to marry non-GSB Hindu man? The answer is BIG NO. It won't happen at all and Shetty will he allow any of his female family member to marry a non-Bunt, it won't happen either. So, we need to understand their love & hatred is only for votes, The same Kamath has went to Indonesia to purchase raw cashew nuts to his factory and praised the Muslim majority country. So-called intelligent Mangaloreans needs to understand that they will divide us and amass wealth, then be in oblivion.
