Mangaluru, Feb 20: MLAs Vedavyas Kamath and Bharath Shetty were granted anticipatory bail by the court in the case pertaining to holding protest and instigating school students to chant slogans in front of St Gerosa School.

A criminal case was registered in city police station against many including the MLAs based on the complaint filed by Gerald Lobo.

The anticipatory bail was granted by the special court of Bengaluru.

Case was filed against VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell, Mangaluru City Corporation corporators Sandeep and Bharath Kumar also.

    If the video that surfaced is the cause of all this trouble, then first and foremost the source of the video and its authenticity must be traced, a full investigation launched and the culprits should be named. Why don't the police nip this issue in the bud and avoided all this nonsense by first verifying the authenticity of the video? This will bring an instant solution to the problem, and stop further escalation of the situation.

    Why was the accused teacher dismissed forcibly under threats and pressure from MLAs? Why no FIR was filed against her and proved the allegations? Why will the police investigate if no complaint is made? Instead of taking up the issue with the educational or governmental authorities the matter was handed over to non-entities like BD and VHP. First of all an elected representative is expected to be aware of the procedure when such untoward incidents happen under his jurisdiction.

    If only Kavitha had reached out to the school management first instead of politicians, all this drama wouldn't have happened. really sad to see how education is getting tangled in politics. A humble request to all parents, do not get involved in politics. Educate your kids, let them grow to be respectful citizens in society. Do not insult elders or teachers in front of your kids because tomorrow they learn from you and start disrespecting everyone. Today they are asking "who gave sisters the rights to tell us what to wear and what not to wear" and you are supporting it blindly. Tomorrow the same kids will say you don't have any rights over them. Politicians will send thier kids to all posh schools and get thier kids will live amazing life away from all the political drama. In the end it is your kids who suffer. Remember politicians will only make noise wherever it is beneficial for them. They honestly don't care about you and deep down you also agree to it. They never raised voice for Sowjanyas rape case becuase that is not going to benefit them. remember that. Exams are coming near. Let the students focus be on studies.

    Honestly speaking, Vedavyas Kamath is one of the good politicians within the BJP, especially when compared to others. He has significantly impacted many individuals in Mangalore, irrespective of their religious beliefs or political ties, speaking from personal experience. However, it is disappointing and SAD to witness him take on a demeaning role purely for the sake of political gains and dancing to the tune of his Masters.
