Mangaluru: Teacher involved in St Gerosa School row loses job, receives threat calls

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Feb 20: In the aftermath of the controversy surrounding St Gerosa School in Mangaluru, Kavitha, a teacher involved in the dispute, has reported receiving threatening phone calls.

Kavitha, who previously served as a teacher at a private school in Thokottu, has lost her job.

On February 10, Kavitha visited the DDPI office along with other parents to address the issues at St Gerosa School. Following this incident, Kavitha's mobile phone number became widely circulated on social media platforms, resulting in her receiving threatening calls from abroad.

Concerned about her safety, Kavitha has filed a complaint at the Kankanady police station regarding the threatening calls.

If the teacher did not indulge as the allegations are being made out, why did the school fire her? How can the school and its management be defended and when the admission on guilt by the school is out there in the form of firing the teacher. Then why FIR against BJP MLAs? First the Jai Hanuman flag in Mandya and now St Gerosa. Congress is working hard towards Lok Sabha polls.

In our Indian culture, the most respected person in our society used to be called "Guru" (Teacher) . Guru's were demi gods and they were highly respected and revered in our society, their feet was touched and their blessings solicited and craved. But recently we have seen a great change. Our lawmakers (MLA's) have become law breakers. They along with their cohort are seen openly misbehaving with the teachers/nuns and school authorities. On video they are making derogatory remarks and opening undermining and belittling teachers and school authorities. Teachers (Guru's) are a noble profession and nuns have given up all the worldly possessions to educate and support the needs of their brothers and sisters in humanity. So please people treat them kindly, and with the respect they deserve.

Then why dont you build one such school where priority is for religion not humanity, most of the schools are catholic schools and the students who study there are more disciplined than any other school, cause they don't teach religion is priority, education and discipline comes first.

these schools run by the Christian missionaries ensure a good education to all without consideration of religion. fundamentalists lose their hold once 'real' education gets in - hence all these nasty tricks. people need to decide what they want - a good future or wallow in misery after getting misguided by worthies like the ones that sought anticipatory bail after committing a crime.

Firstly it is imperative to find out the origin of that audio message that started all the problem. Who was that lady who spoke against the concerned teacher and the school? If this is found out & necessary action is taken, then all speculations might stop. All this drama of threat calls and life in danger is to cover/hush up the issue. If the lady concerned is involved in defaming the teacher and institution then she needs to be interrogated and punished appropriately.

Come on guys!!! In the best interests of the school, its parents , students , and their studies , it would be prudent to work on a compromise and seek a peaceful solution. All relevant parties should come to the table and sort this out amicably. Nobody is going to win in this quagmire. Let bygones be bygones. Blame gaming, threats, FIRs , provocation, protests will only tarnish the school further more. Its the students who will suffer the maximum. Please note , the leaders of political parties warring here are great friends behind the scene. Its an open secret that is out on news channels and social media.

Its very simple to solve this issue, in fact the police department should have called her to the police station and enquired about the episode and upon confirming the issue, either police have concluded she is not a culprit, on the other hand if it is confirmed that, the teacher has done the offense ( whatever what one of the community is complaining) than a very clear FIR could have booked and further referred to the court, the court will decide after the fact finding. in India there are few people who directly abusing and scolding other religion where the police does not move at all, hence everyone has to be calm and make use of police department and solve the issue

There is no doubt that the threat calls to Ms Kavitha need to be probed and action taken. At the same time, the following issues also should be probed and FIR filed against Ms Kavitha if she is found guilty: 1. Was Ms Kavitha working as a teacher and terminated by a Christian institution at Thokottu? If not in which institution did she teach and the reason for her termination? Was she found guilty of instigating students and parents against the Management of the private institution where she worked earlier and terminated? 2. Is her child studying in the 7th standard at St Gerosa's, where the poem was taught? 3. Is she truly the parent of the child studying in the 7th standard at St Gerosa's or representing other parents with a malafide intent against Christian institutions? 4. Was her child present in the class on that particular day when the poem was taught? 5. To which right-wing organisation does Kavitha belong? An impartial inquiry by the CID is required to stem this communal inferno set up by a few anti-social elements which are a regular feature in Dakshina Kannada district. Once the State Government acts firmly such incidents in future will be put to rest.

It's very difficult to believe that someone from this, affected, very docile community would dare to make any threat calls to the person concerned; these darpok community doesn't even have the wherewithal to even put their personal commitments on social media, forget about even threatening somebody. IMO, this could be the handiwork of rogues who after failing in their recent attempt to attack and tarnish the image of this highly docile and peace loving community, to add more fuel to the fire and keep the flames alive! This should be a big lesson for all those gullible public who fall under the influence of guile politicians and invite unnecessary trouble for themselves! Please note this is a very personal opinion based on my perception of the ongoing news reports; please do not believe in the personal opinion but do your own research and logical analysis; I have to declare here that I perform do not believe in any organised religion hence my comment should be taken as totally unbiased!
