Kasargod, Jan 27: First Neuro, Mangaluru, India’s first and only neurosciences hospital chain, inaugurated the First Neuro Comprehensive Neurosciences Centre (Outpatient Unit) at Anangoor here on Friday January 26.
The unit was inaugurated by N A Nellikunnu, MLA, Kasargod. In his inaugural address, Nellikunnu expressed happiness that such advanced medical facilities were now being made available to the people of Kasaragod district. He appealed to the people of Kasargod to take advantage of the expertise made available.
This is the first-of-its-kind medical facility in North Kerala. The guests of honour were AKM Ashraf, MLA, Manjeshwar; C H Kunjambu, MLA, Uduma; M Rajagopalan, MLA, Trikaripur; Shamseeda Firoz, vice-chairman, Kasargod municipality; Abbas Beegum, chairman, development standing committee, Kasargod municipality; and Dr Jithendra Rai, president, IMA, Kasargod.
Dr Mohammed Shameem Kattathadka, consultant neurologist, welcomed the gathering.
Dr Rajesh Shetty, medical director & consultant neurologist delivered the presidential address. He offered information on the facilities available at the unit.
Roshni Shetty, director; Ramachandra Shetty, Dr Rakshith Kedamdad - consultant neurologist, Ranjith Shetty - chief operating officer, Sampath Kumar – manager marketing; Biju - manager- Administration and others were present.
The facilities offered by First Neuro Comprehensive Neurosciences Centre (Outpatient Unit), Anangoor, Kasargod are neuro care, day care OPD, first 24-hr MRI in the district, neurophysiology diagnosis, availability of adult and paediatric neurologists, neuro rehabilitation and 24x7 pharmacy.
