Bengaluru man shoots 32-year-old son to death in fit of rage

Bengaluru, Jan 26 (IANS): In a shocking incident, a man shot his son in a fit of rage leading to his death in Bengaluru.

The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Narthan Bopanna, a resident of Karekalmane near the Kamakshipalya locality, police said on Friday.

According to the police, Narthan and his father Suresh had an argument over an issue, and in a fit of rage, the father committed the crime.

Upon hearing the gunfire, neighbours informed the police. When the police arrived at the scene, they found Narthan lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a hospital, but he succumbed to his bullet wound at a private hospital.

Kodagu people get gun licenses easily due to the firearms act which is lenient towards the Kodagu people, because of their culture. A festival called Kailpodh is celebrated. The word Kailpodh means a festival of Armory or weapons.

Mangathram Kavdoor ,where did you have this info please ?Guns are allowed in schools? They are not allowed officially. When one brings from home without knowledge of officials noone can do anything. One can apply to licence after the certain age but without having previous problems with law. Here how father got the weapon and had licence?Or preplanned murder?Matter is not revealed.Very sad .Father has killed his own offspring. Is it now slowly Bangalore becoming hot spot for crimes?Very sad .May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to his family .
