Journalist and Udupi diocese media coordinator Michael Rodrigues and former president ICYM Udupi district and branch manager MCC Bank Udupi branch Ovin Rebello, were the judges for the competition. Expressing his opinion, Michael Rodrigues said, “More than 200 entries were received for this year’s ‘Godali Sadagara 2023’. It was an absolute challenge to choose the best as each and every entry was excellent. As we noticed in many cases, the birth of Jesus Christ, which is the core of any crib was largely neglected by the makers. There is a need for usage of real things as well, as many of the cribs contained artificial elements. Many have taken efforts to beautifully depict and recreate ‘Bethlehem’ city. The quality of photos also mattered while making the judgment. Due to usage of some artificial lightings and other elements, the real meaning of the crib is being neglected. My suggestion to the participants of group category is to use bigger statues as the area covered is large. I congratulate all the participants for their participation.”

The competition was sponsored by ‘Pearl Garden, Katapady’ and ‘Two Four true value, Indrali’.
