Mangaluru: Residents demand proper bus stand facilities at Bondel Junction

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Jan 4: Bondel Junction, a convergence point for people traveling to various destinations, lacks a dedicated bus stand, causing inconvenience to both shopkeepers and passengers, especially during the monsoon season. Public demand for a well-equipped bus stand at Bondel has been a long-standing request, as standing in shops is not ideal for either the shopkeepers or the passengers.

There is also scrutiny over the decision to allocate Rs 45 lac for the construction of a circle at Bondel Junction instead of prioritizing the essential need for a bus stand, as emphasized by the public.

In addition to the bus stand concerns, the public toilet at the junction has been neglected for an extended period, presenting a dire situation. The unsanitary conditions, including overgrown bushes covering the toilet doors, and the presence of alcohol bottles and tetra packs in the washbasins, highlight the urgent need for maintenance.

Residents are urging local authorities and representatives to address these issues promptly and ensure the provision of essential facilities for the public.
