Bantwal: 10 arrested over illicit transfer of tar from tankers

Bantwal, Dec 9: Ten people were arrested for transferring tar from tankers brought by a private factory.

The arrested are identified as Vijay Kumar Shetty, Sudhakar Shetty, Mohammad Imran, Ashraf M, Virendra S R, Madaswamy, Prabhakaran, Navin Kumar M G, Mohammad Nisar, and Mohammad Sihabuddin.

The illicit transfer of tar was taking place at Amai village in Kadleshwalya in the night on Friday December 8. The tar was being transferred from tankers brought by the private company. Police sub-inspector Manjunath T, along with his team of detectives, reportedly confronted and apprehended individuals at the scene.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that Vijay Kumar Shetty and Sudhakar Shetty alias Sudhakar Kotari from Udupi, along with others, were allegedly involved in the activity.

Six tankers which were used for the unauthorized transfer of tar, were seized. A weighing scale used for measuring tar, a gas cylinder and an iron tanker, and nine mobile phones belonging to the accused were seized.

Cases have been filed and investigation is underway.

    Name of the (in)famous private company also should have been mentioned as without the tacit connivance of it's top officials this sort of pilferage is impossible; also this jugglery might not be an isolated one, IMO 🤔🙏

    What nonsense is this?Stealing everything what in the hand you get or what before your eyes is.Terrible People.They should be jailed for many years and the man behind this too.Or apply the stolen tar on their face and take a round.
