Mangaluru: Session on 'Green Skills for Sustainable Future' held at St Agnes College

Mangaluru, Sep 8: The Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research, St Agnes College (Autonomous) organized a session on “Green Skills for Sustainable Future” on September 6. The special guest for the session was Froidy Fernandes, HOD & Assistant Professor, Department of Botany.

The session started by invoking God's blessing. Merin V M welcomed the gathering, and Samruddhi compered the session. Sr Dr M Vinora AC PG coordinator congratulated the department for organizing such a meaningful program. The objective of the session was to impart a range of knowledge, skills and attitude among students in higher education regarding Green Skills.

Mrs Fernandes, highlighted the importance of nature and environment, the connection and the relationship between nature and human beings. She emphasized the importance of sustainability and how to use the accessible resources minimally. She requested everyone to grow and take care of their own plants. She also added that each one is responsible to make the world a better place to live hence each action counts. She also discussed the applicability of green skills in numerous industries.

Post graduate students from different departments attended the session. The session ended successfully under the guidance of Dr Dolan Champa Banerjee, HoD of M Com. Sumaiyya, M Com final year student concluded the session.
