Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 3: With a view to improving mobile network connectivity in rural areas, the Centre has devised a plan to ensure that mobile phones ring in lakhs of villages without any hassles all over the country.
In Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, the BSNL has erected 4G towers to actualise this objective.
As a result of this initiative, BSNL 4G network services will be available in all the small villages of the undivided districts of Dakshina Kannada. Wherever necessary, towers have been erected by private companies for which a due diligence has been conducted and the construction of towers is under way.
Moreover, towers that are already in existence are likely to further get rejuvenated. The 4G towers that are being built by the Centre will be upgraded to 5G in the future.
Mobile towers are being erected in villages of Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district at Kailaaru, Hanchikatta, Bolamtooru, Keshavanagar, Kuriyaalu, Abbettu and Natekal besides Peradi, Aniyooru, Badanaje, Nittadka, Barengaaya, Charmadi Kanjaal, Malaadi Kariyabe, Kemmate, Kodiyalbailu, Kolpaadi, Kupplottu, Baipaadi, Mundooru, Penardka, Miyalaje, Yelneeru, Perla of Belthangady taluk.
Mobile towers are being erected in villages of Kadaba taluk such as Kudooru, Olakadame, Manjunathanagar, Ulippu, Kallapparu, Manjoli Male, Alanthaya, Bettadi, Bolpaadi, Suruli, Puttige, Siribagilu, and in villages of Mangaluru like Odooru. In Moodbidri taluk, towers are being built at Kemmaru, Padumarnadu's Moorugoli, Puttur taluk's Korambadka, Kuvechcharu, Doomadka, Yetyadka, Guttikallu, Nettannige, and Sullia taluk's Kandrapaadi, Deva, Gabbaladka, Sonamgeri, Peramgodi, Deraaje, Peraalu, Madappadi Guddemane, Balugodu, Achchalli, Chikkinadka, Baddadka, Banjikodi, Bollaje, Jimurki, Katta, Koppadka, Konadka, Konardka, Kootakunja, Kuttamotte, Ajjavara, Mullya and Narnakaje.
Mobile towers are being erected in villages of Udupi districts of Panchanabettu and Koudooru, Maala Hukkratte, Muttlupaadi, Nooralbettu, Kanthavarada Belladi of Karkala taluk besides Nagaramakki, Ganganaadu, Moodanagadde, Bollamballi, Chuchchi, Kolluru Dali, Jadkal Basriberu, Edooru Kukkadka, Baradakallu, Bellala, Oorubail, Nandolli, Halliholi's Erige, Kundanabailu and Kabbinaale.
Towers are being built in villages of Kundapura taluk such as Argodu, Bechchalli, Siddapura's Irabailu, Sone, Hebri's Berpi, Karjekurpaadi, Kaasanamakki.
In all, 66 mobile towers are being built in Dakshina Kannada district and 36 in Udupi district.
Already, 27 BSNL 4G towers have been built in Udupi and 2 of them in Dakshina Kannada district. Mobile towers are also being built in border areas and most of the works are in progress at present.
BSNL is striving to regain its glory all over the country by erecting mobile towers in rural areas.
