Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SB)

Mangaluru, Jun 22: Daijiworld 24x7, the premium television channel of coastal Karnataka, is approaching its glorious 10th year with a year-long series of decennial activities. Daijiworld 24x7 TV, the third media venture of Daijiworld Media Group, started its live transmission of programs from 6 am on Monday, June 16, 2014. The channel is available locally through cable networks, digital set-top boxes, and worldwide via the internet and an Android mobile app.

Initially, the channel focused on the news and entertainment interests of people from coastal Karnataka. However, after its launch, it quickly gained popularity for its journalism and informative and diverse entertainment programmes in Kannada, Tulu, and Konkani languages. As it grew, the channel expanded its programme offerings, including various reality shows and platforms for emerging talents in the entertainment world. It also highlighted well-known personalities and achievers in various fields through its programmes. The young and dynamic journalists of the channel demonstrated a strong commitment to standing with the people and acting as a real voice for the opposition in the coastal region. Through its news packages and prime debates, the channel advocated for common people and played a crucial role in ensuring justice for them.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the channel's ethics and objectives became even more influential. Its timely assistance to those in need, especially in terms of food and medicine during the lockdown period, garnered a massive fan following and viewership worldwide. The channel acted as a mediator between the administration and the people, helping them fight against Covid-19 and navigate the challenges of the lockdown. Programmes like 'Navu Nimmondige', Corona Gellona, Private Challenge (Tulu), Kirikiri Jodilu (Tulu), Badukalu Kalitavaru, Savi Sanje, Phone in Sangeeta Taare, and Gayan Gazali (Konkani) were specifically designed for the lockdown period and became all-time hits in the television history. The channel was also commended for its transparency in directly connecting donors to beneficiaries.

Daijiworld 24x7 also achieved several firsts and records in the television industry of the coastal region. It was the first local channel to display its logo in the Tulu script. The channel also aired a Tulu writing class for a year, setting a record in the process. Another unique and popular program introduced by Daijiworld 24x7 TV was Yaksharasa, a sitcom-style Yakshagana series, which was a first in the region. 'Phone in Sangeeta Taare' was another distinctive reality show where contestants sang over the phone from their homes. The channel has aired five Konkani serials to date, another record-breaking feat. The serial 'Mrs Meena and Family' has already completed 75 episodes and is still airing. The Konkani programme 'Amchi Mati Amchim Monsham' has also reached its 100th episode. The singing show 'Gayan and Gazali' will air its 100th episode next week. The channel has introduced new concepts with shows like Private Challenge, Kiri Kiri Jodilu, and Biri Biri Pavs.

Approaching its 10th year anniversary, Daijiworld 24x7 TV has transformed into a powerful visual media platform in the coastal region. Along with delivering accurate information, the channel produces unique TV programmes in Kannada, Tulu, and Konkani. According to Walter Nandalike, the founder of Daijiworld Media Group, the credit for its success goes to entire team members and to the viewers across the globe who have established the Daijiworld Media brand. Additionally, the trust of the business community in the coastal regions has strengthened the channel further. Finally, the vibrant and talented team behind the channel has been the secret to all its achievements, recognitions, and acclaim.

As part of the celebration, the channel has planned numerous outreach programmes and unique TV shows. The celebration will culminate in June 2024 with a grand event.

It is a rare feat in local journalism where social media subscribers / followers for Daijiworld have crossed over a million. YouTube alone has more than 530,000 subscribers for Daijiworld TV page.
