Mangaluru: Audiences enthralled by old Hindi hits at ‘The Retro Duo’ musical concert

Mangaluru, Jun 10: It was a night to remember for retro Bollywood music lovers (Hindi film songs) with ‘The Retro Duo’ musical concert held here at Hotel Moti Mahal on Saturday, June 10.

Renowned singer Gopi Kamath from Dubai who has rendered hundreds of Bollywood musical concerts in the UAE and other countries presented 'The Retro Duo', a two-hour non-stop retro musical nite of Hindi numbers.

Gopi Kamath was accompanied by violin maestro Ranga Pai from Manipal, who has performed retro Bollywood songs, both vocal and instrumental. The retro duo enthralled the audiences with a two-hour non–stop musical feast of old Hindi songs.

Gopi Kamath thanked the audiences for attending the retro duo in large numbers. Gopi Kamath rendered some of the Hindi retro songs like Ek haseen sham ko, Ye nayan dare dare, Yaad kiya dil ne kahan, Ye raatein ye mausam, Ek pyaar ka nagma (instrumental), Chaudhvin ka chand ho and Jane kahan gaye woh din among a host of other songs.

Singers Divya Pai and Deepa Bhat ably supported Gopi Kamath on duet songs. Gopi Kamath also rendered a Konkani song to the joy of the audience.

This is a rare musical concert for Mangalureans as the audiences were deeply involved in the retro songs sung by Gopi Kamath who was accompanied by Ranga Pai.
