Udupi city residents to get drinking water supply once in five days

Udupi, Jun 7: For adequate distribution of drinking water in Udupi Municipal Corporation, a rationing system had been started to supply water once in three days.

As the current storage of drinking water in the basin is very low, water will be supplied to Parkal, Settibettu, Ananthanagar, Eshwarnagar, Vidyaratna Nagar, Sheembra on June 9 instead of June 8 through the municipal pipes and subsequently water will be supplied once in five days.

Later, on June 14, water will be supplied to Kalmadi, Kodavur, Dodnagudde, Santhekatte, Subrahmanya Nagar and Kodankur wards of Puttur Tank and on  June 19 water will be supplied from Indira Nagar Tank, Ajjarakadu, S.P. Tank, Puttur Tank, Gopalpur, Mudubettu, Hanumantanagar Tank to Hanumanta Nagar. .

As water is currently being supplied from the wells by pumping, if the public within the municipal area are using the municipal water for drinking purposes, they have been advised to boil the water before drinking it, the municipal commissioner said in a statement.
