Mumbai, Jul 18: The 11th annual general body meeting of Jayalaxmi Co-operative Credit Society, promoted by Okkaliga Sangh Maharashtra, was held at Kamgar Kalyan Bhavan, Gondavali Goutan, Andheri (East) on Sunday July 17.  Society president K Raje Gowda presided over the meeting.

Swami Mallikarjun Kanjurmarg delivered the spiritual message at the beginning of the meeting.

Okkaliga Sangh president and Adi Chunchanagiri Seva Samiti Mumbai president Narayan R Gowda inaugurated the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Narayan Gowda said that discussions are underway by the Board of Directors to move to a larger office as the existing office is not sufficient to cater to the growing number of customers.  “Efforts are underway to convert the Society into a Co-operative Bank,” he said.

Raje Gowda, in his presidential address, said that the Society that was founded for the welfare of Okkaliga community has earned the loyalty of a wide section of customers.  “The Society aims to turn into a co-operative bank to take advantage of the rapid changes in the financial sector in the country,” he added.

Kannada Rakshana Vedike president Prasanna Gowda and Mysore entrepreneur Puttaraju P Gowda were the chief guests on the occasion.

Treasurer Rangappa C Gowda, directors Nagesh N Patel, Chandan C Chari, Mutte S Gowda, A Kempe Gowda, Anusuya R Gowda, Devaki N Gowda, Sunanda R Gowda and Meenakshi N Patel, were present on the dais.

The Board of Directors felicitated the Society’s general manager Parshuram Kssan Dond, senior officer Lata Dhanaraj Gowda, collection agents Sadashiv S Sapaliga and Mange Dodde Gowda on the occasion.
