Mangaluru: Monsoon delay - Panic in coastal region, rains to hit coast on Jun 8

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Jun 5: As the weather conditions over sea are not favourable, monsoon will be delayed this year. The pre-monsoon showers also did not pour as expected. Mercury is soaring and people are suffering due to heat and water scarcity. In 2019 also, similar situation was created.

Indian Meteorological Department said that monsoon will enter Kerala on June 4. However, according to the present trend it will be delayed by another four to five days.

In 2019, monsoon entered Kerala on June 8, a week later than expected. Usually, the monsoon reaches coastal Karnataka after a day or two of entering in the state of Kerala. However, in 2019, the monsoon entered coastal Karnataka on June 14 due to cyclone that suddenly developed in the Arabian Sea.

As every year, this year too, the monsoon clouds began moving from south Andaman Sea and Nicobar Islands on May 19. However, for the next 10 days it stalled in the same region.

According to the present trend, monsoon is going to enter coastal Karnataka on June 8. According to Prasad, officer of Indian meteorological department, “In order to announce monsoon there are some rules. In the first place 60% pre-monsoon rains should occur in 14 places including Kerala, Lakshadweep and Mangaluru. However, so far only 35% rains have lashed in these areas. That too in nine places it should rain more than 2.5 cms for two days continuously. However, this year it has not happened. That is why Monsoon arrival cannot be announced. According to the present information, monsoon may enter coastal Karnataka on June 8.”

Despite so many rivers flowing in and around mangalore, there is a massive shortage of water every year. The damns built in the past continue to serve even today, while the population has increased many folds and ground water has declined massively. Cong proposed projects gets stalled by BJP for one reason or other. Now that DK and Udupi, overwhelmingly voted in favor of BJP, most likely that the region would get little attention from congress, if it has to follow BJP MP Tejeshwi's way of thinking. He was quoted saying in rail accident, that killed hundreds and injured 1000s, BJP was trying to help PARTY WORKERS, affected in the accident.

Now, you must be abroad and behind english english.....All you people are speaking in konglish (Konkani English incase it is hard for you to understand) even now when you come on vacation. Some people have alcohol hangover and YOU have colonial hangover. Do you think you are less funny ? No one was born in kirem 50 years ago Anil by name. I am kannada medium.....i write as i want.
