Bantwal, May 31: Abdul Rasheed, a local, had allegedly encroached the Nandavara Aramanehitlu road and built a border wall. The tahsildar visited the spot and got the boundary wall demolished after protests from locals and BJP leaders who objected to it.
Reshma, a local resident, had complained to the gram panchayat explaining that the border wall poses problems to about 30 houses. Therefore, Sajipamunnoor panchayat development officer had issued a notice to Rashid asking him to demolish the wall.
As Abdul Rasheed did not budge, locals and BJP leaders gathered for protests in front of Bantwal Adalitha Soudha for protests urging tahsildar S B Koodalagi for action. MLA Rajesh Naik too contacted the tahsildar over the phone asking him to take action.
While demolishing the wall, the protesters urged the tahsildar to take action against illegal construction in violation of court orders. However, the tahsildar said that the PDO will take action in this connection.
