The video footage shows that it was the car which hit the bus so care should be taken while reporting which pointed the other way round.

Look at the damage the bus took and then look at the car. Seems like substandard. Wonder what the make is!

All Indian low to medium end cars are lightweight so as to give good mileage! Any which way, a high end SUV too wouldn't have sustained such a high speed collision! BTW, they should investigate whether any of the car's tyre bursted before the collision as it's very common in high temperatures!!

May their souls RIP!! Looking at the pic, the bus seems to be on the extreme left side of the road; and it's the car which has veered away from the path and crashed into the bus, though the bus might have been traversing at high speed! Moreover, the car with eight people was overloaded!

Is it certain that the bus collided with the car and not the other way round?

careless driver, undoubtedly. I keep driving on that road and come across several maniacs, who are unfamiliar with driving on twisting roads, come at me full speed, particularly at the curves! educating them (I have tried a few times earning abuse for my efforts) is a waste of one'e time. I am certain the bus was not at fault.

Years back this was a narrow road (traffic too was very less), never heard of any accident of such magnitude. What's the fun in widening the roads?

Heads have to roll -- resignations -- dismissal -- Politicians are busy now in electioneering -- public safety be damned -- no accountability -- A family needlessly suffers -- near and dear ones suffer -- children's lives snatched away by reckless driving --

THIS IS NOT ACCIDENT BUT MURDER --- Killer wheels -- KSRTC drivers are reckless- our roads are very narrow -- not meant for high speed which these buses travel -- what is the necessity -- every bus terminal arrival and departure time is documented as per normal speed- introduce governors or some method --on board camera etc. to ensure no reckless driving -- there might have been very many near misses --

I think the Bus is standing in the correct direction. It seems the car driver lost control at a very high speed. Maybe this is result of rash driving.

JD, Udupi, I fully agree with your comments and it makes sense. The car completely crashed killing six and injuring two who were occupants of the car that hit a KSRTC bus. But surprisingly there was just a dent on the right side of the bus.

I think bus is not at fault. The speed with which car hit the bus is very evident. It's seems like it's MARUTI SWIFT DEZIRE, maruti cars have the weakest structural integrity , with such an impact it was supposed to happen. No surprise. And regarding the damage to bus, it has also suffered decent damage but limited only only to area of contact. Bus suffer huge damage when the impact is with other similar big vehicles like lorry, bus, tipper etc STOP RECKLESS DRIVING, ONES MISTAKE HAS TO BE BEARED WITH ATLEAST 2-3 RELATED FAMILIES.
