Puttaparthi, Jul 3: About two weeks after the discovery of cash amounting to Rs 11.56 crore and 98 kg of gold in the private chamber of Sathya Sai Baba, government officials dug up another treasure of silver and gold articles from an adjoining room of the chamber.

The silver and gold articles are worth more than Rs 76 lac, but unlike in the earlier case, no cash was found this time, it is learnt. The valuables recovered included 116 kg of silver worth Rs 57.96 lac, 905 grams of gold worth Rs 15.83 lac and a diamond ring worth Rs 3 lac.

The inspection was conducted in the presence of members of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust on Saturday July 2.

Following the latest discovery, another inspection of Yajur Mandir is on the cards, sources said.

The inspection was done following a request by the Trust to make inventory of the valuables in the room adjoining the Mandir. No valuables were found in the private chambers of Sathya Sai Baba, however, it is learnt that the Yajur Mandir contains several envelopes with cheques donated by devotees.

The valuables have been tranferred to the bank account of the Trust.
