Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE School organises workshop on calligraphy

Mangaluru, Mar 28: The Bharathiya Vidyabhavan Mangaluru in Association of British Scholars Mangaluru chapter along with St Agnes CBSE School organised a workshop on calligraphy on March 27. Power handwriting and its 7 elements and tips to improve handwriting were the key topics that were discussed in the session.

The dignitaries were professor G R Rai as the inaugurator who is the senior executive committee member, Bharathiya Vidyabhavan Mangaluru, CA Y Sudhir Kumar Shetty as the chief guest who is the secretary of Bharathiya Vidyabhavan, Dr Chandrashekar as guest of honour who is the secretary of ABS, Mangaluru chapter, professor. K C Janardhan the resource person to the session and who is the former president, Association of British Scholars, Bengaluru, Dr S M Shivaprakash as the programme co-ordinator who is the convener and EC member, ABS Mangalore chapter, Sr Lenita Lobo the vice principal, Sr .Edna Furtado AC the administrator and Sr Sweedal Fernandes the academic co-ordinator.

The programme commenced with evoking God’s blessings through a melodious prayer song by the students. A mesmerising welcome dance gave an added touch to the ambiance of the programme. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp.

The dignitaries in their enriching words congratulated the students and staff for organising the excellent platform to conduct this meaningful session. Through their experience and learning they shared their insights on the importance of handwriting and how India prospered under the leadership of eminent leaders who were able to communicate to the world through their excellent writing skills.

The resource person then took a lead of the session by mesmerising the audience with his exuberant attitude of capturing the audience and at the same time imparting knowledge on the 7 elements of Power Handwriting and calligraphy skills. Right from holding the correct way of a pen in hand to discussing the correct posture of writing was put forth to the audience. The importance of writing in this digital era and the consequences faced by the people for not writing was also expressed by the resource person. Through the use of strokes the art of writing the alphabets was shown to the audience. The presentation of slides on various topics also added flavour to the topics discussed. At the end of the session the resource person shared some of his experience on how beautiful handwriting had made him successful in life.

The programme was compered by Sheryl Noronha. Daphne Fernandes welcomed the gathering and Tanisha Nafeesa proposed the vote of thanks thanking the dignitaries and the audience for bringing this session to a great success by their excellent participation.

The management congratulated the principal, staff, and students for organising the meaningful session and imparting knowledge of a good handwriting to students and teachers.
