Mangaluru, March 9: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heat wave in parts of the coastal region during the next 48 hours. People are likely to experience heat wave in parts of Konkan, Goa and Coastal Karnataka on March 9 and 10.

Coastal districts are experiencing intense heat conditions during the last few days with the onset of summer. As the ground remained scorching hot, people were found struggling to walk barefoot.

The weather department had withdrawn its warning issued a few days earlier as there was a drop in temperatures from Sunday. However, it has issued a fresh forecast warning of a heat wave once again.
