Mumbai, Oct 14: Television actor Niti Taylor has revealed that a casting couch experience with a Telugu film director prompted her to stay away from movies, despite having made her silver screen debut in 2012.
Speaking on Hauterrfly, the actor recalled that the director of her first film approached her for another project after they had completed their work together. She alleged that he told her she would have to sleep with him to get the role.

Recalling her reaction, Niti said she immediately disconnected the call, blocked his number and informed her mother about the incident. She said she was shocked and did not know how to respond at the time.
The actor also suggested that she had seen the director with other female actors but had not expected him to make such a proposition to her. The incident left her so disturbed that she decided not to act in films again. She added that she did not share the experience with anyone at the time because she was taken aback by what had happened.
Niti, who has worked extensively in television, has appeared in three Telugu films during her career. She made her silver screen debut with Mem Vayasuku Vacham in 2012. Directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina and starring Tanish in the lead role, the film was a commercial success.
In 2013, she appeared in Pelli Pustakam, directed by Ramakrishna Machakanti and featuring Rahul Ravindran as the male lead. The film failed at the box office and received negative reviews from critics.
Her third and last film was Love Dot Com, released in 2014 and directed by Raja Vannem Reddy. Aarya Sandeep played the lead role opposite her. The film also failed commercially.
Niti did not reveal the director's identity while recounting the alleged casting couch experience. The actor has since continued her career in television and other entertainment projects.
