Govt Schemes have benefited 5.5 crore people, says Bommai

Mysuru, Mar 7: Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai claimed that government schemes worth Rs 42,000 crore have reached five and a half crore people across the state in the last four years.

He was inaugurating a conference of beneficiaries of central and state government schemes organized at Maharaja College grounds in Mysuru on Tuesday.

In managing the Covid pandemic situation, he said the Prime Minister has given health security to all by providing vaccines, medicines, and food.

"Modi's hard work is the reason why no one can walk around without wearing a mask," he said.

Through the Kisan Samman Yojana, Modi has arranged for the Central and State governments to directly deposit money into the accounts of 54 lakh farmers in the state.

Raitha Vidyanidhi Yojana has been implemented, which has benefited 13 lakh students. More than 20,000 farmer families in Mysore have benefited from Raita Vidyanidhi scheme of Free education for girls, he said.

The Chief Minister said girls are being given free education up to a degree.

Loans up to Rs 5 lakh are given to girl children under Shri Yojana Yojana. This will benefit 3 lakh women. Swami Vivekananda Yojana has provided opportunities for self-employment to more than 2 lakh youth. Rs 10,000 for acid attack girl victims is being given, he said.

"We have devised a plan for cochlear implants for those born deaf. We have earmarked Rs.500 crore for this. The scheme of conducting eye examination and surgery for people above 60 years of age has been started in four districts and will be extended in all districts next year," he said.

Dialysis cycles have been increased to 1 lakh. Difficulties are understood, and action is taken. Chemotherapy is being done free of charge. We know the suffering of people. He explained that more than one thousand herbal medicine centers have been opened in Karnataka.

Fulfillment of demands

Increased reservation for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, their 40-year demand has been met, he said, pointing out that 4,000 Anganwadi centers have been opened especially for children of laborers.

"We have implemented a free bus scheme for working women. In each constituency, 100 SC ST youths will be provided with scooters for self-employment. Rights are being given to those in slums," he explained.

The Chief Minister said: "Our clinic in every ward is empowering the street vendors with grants. He said that if such a pro-people government is given massive support, more projects will be implemented."

People's Rights at Doorstep:

He explained that the government has done all the work and stood before the people with ethics. Money is being deposited in the beneficiary's account without any middlemen. If the people become rich, the state will become rich. Work has been done to empower the youth, women, and the helpless.

He said that those who deliver people's rights to their doorstep should have people's support. People can change their poverty situation through their own work for which the central and state government will give full cooperation.

District In-charge Minister S T Somashekhar, MLAs L Nagendra, S A Ramdas, and local representatives were present on the occasion.

Earlier, the Chief Minister held discussions with Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya at his residence in Bengaluru in the morning.

Bommai later participated in the Janaushadi Divas 2023 programme at Jayanagar and inaugurated the 100th Janaushadi centre at Jayanagar in Bengaluru.
